INDICATE LIFE closes with a full day at L42, Rue de la Loi 42, Brussels, on Wednesday 21 October 2026, bringing together policymakers, industry and stakeholders from across Europe.
Morning: the WLC Network, 09:30–13:00
Roundtable discussions, introduced by the roundtable leads and Smith Innovation, on four questions the sector has not yet answered:
- How should Member States turn building-level data into credible benchmarks, targets and regulatory limit values?
- How should whole life carbon thinking influence renovation policy, and decisions about renovation, reuse or rebuild?
- How can whole life carbon data better inform investment, lending, valuation and development decisions?
- What data infrastructure, skills, responsibilities and market conditions are needed for implementation at scale?
Key points from the roundtables are presented at 11:30, followed by lunch and networking.
Afternoon: the closing event, 14:00–17:00
Opened by Giulia Carbonari (World Green Building Council), with an interview with Ciarán Cuffe moderated by Miles Rowland (WorldGBC). Zsolt Toth (BPIE) moderates the panel discussion; Martin Röck joins the panel alongside Paul Astle (Ramboll), with DG ENER and EBC to be confirmed. Josefina Lindblom (DG ENV) presents the Staff Working Document, and Adam Rietti (Smith Innovation) sets out what INDICATE LIFE achieved. Networking and a cocktail close the day.

The event is open and registration is required: register here.
And around it
The project consortium also meets in Brussels on 21 and 22 October for internal community building. That part is closed, and we expect to write about what came out of it afterwards.
Invitation issued by the INDICATE LIFE team via the World Green Building Council. More on the project at indicatedata.com.
